"My family immigrated to the United States as refugees two weeks before my 8th birthday. It is a difficult journey to flee your home and move to a new place where you do not know the language or culture, on top of having very limited resources. It is even more difficult to raise four young children on this journey. Although, my parents excelled, I wish we had access to the resources UCFS/CALC provides, especially the youth programs, like Project Achievement."
